Apple releases new iOS 8.3 update
After an intensely long beta test, Apple has launched its latest update – iOS 8.3 – to all iPhone users including iPad and iPod touch users which includes over 300 new emojis, redesigned keyboard along with many bug fixes.
The update now includes many new racial emojis, which were fist unveiled in February. The new iOS 8.3 update brings in support for Siri in many new languages which allow Siri to operate in more countries. The list includes Russian, Danish, Dutch, Thai, Swedish, Turkish and Portuguese.
The update also claims to improve stability, overall performance along with bug fixes for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, third-party keyboards and other apps.
Other minor changes include the ability for Siri to make calls on speaker phone and also includes new settings for changing how the iTunes Store asks for authentication. The update also includes new filtering options in the Messages app. Users have the option to report junk messages along with the option to filter iMessages which are not received from contacts.
Apple has also released Xcode 6.3 with Swift 1.2 and an Apple Watch fix for apps that use continuous background location. iPhone 6 Plus users will now find a dedicated formatting key for bold and underline in the landscape keyboard. The update also fixes the bug in Safari searches by making adjustments to the keyboard and the fixing of the space bar.
A detailed list of changes can be viewed on the company’s support page. Apple is now preparing to launch the next version, iOS 9, which will be unveiled in June.
